The
chart shown on this page will depend on the selections you made in the table
view of your data explorer. If you selected multiple dates for a numerical
indicator, a time series chart will be displayed. If you selected a single date
for one or more indicators, a bar chart will be displayed. If you selected a
categorical indicator, a pie chart will be displayed. A metadata summary for
the data view and the indicators it contains (or a link to a metadata summary)
may be available below the chart.
The
indicator(s) and date(s) being charted will be displayed at the top of the
chart. To add a title to the chart, type some text into the 'Custom' title box
below the chart. If you are charting single dates for one or more indicators,
you will have the option to select a different chart type and specify a minimum
and maximum for the y axis. Make you changes and click the 'Update' button to
update the chart.
The
'Select Chart Type' drop down menu allows you to choose the chart type:
·
Bar. Each area is represented by a vertical bar.
·
Horizontal bar. Each area is represented by a horizontal
bar.
·
Line. The data values for areas are represented by a
line.
·
Pie. Each slice shows the percentage of the data that can
be attributed to a particular area. Note that the percentages displayed in the
pie chart should not be directly interpreted as the data values entered for a
particular area.
You
can click the chart to view an enlarged version. You can click on the chart
with your right button mouse and choose the 'Save As' to save the image as a
Bitmap. You can then insert this image into any other document.
Click
the 'Table' icon if you wish to return to the Table View.
Click
the 'CSV' icon to download the data view as a CSV file, which can be opened in
Excel for further data analysis or reporting.
