2.2. Search Documents & Resources

You have the option of using a simple or advanced search. For a free text search, type your search term into the 'Enter Search term' box and click the 'Search' button. You can type multiple criteria (separated by blank spaces) and the search will return all results that contain one or more of the search criteria. You can enclose a search criterion in double quotations to ensure that the search is based on the whole criteria. You can include underscores in your search criteria as wildcard characters (i.e. a substitute for any other character or characters). You can limit your search to data resources or document resources by selecting the appropriate button.

Search results will be displayed below under the headings Datasets, Indicators, Area Types, Data Views, Reports and Documents and Web Resources. Click the link to the item of interest.

Click the 'Advanced Search Options' icon to access the advanced search options. Make selections from the various drop down menus to build up a search query and then click the 'Search' button.

Alternatively, click the 'List all Datasets' icon to view a page with links to metadata for every dataset.

Click the 'Back' icon if you wish to return to the previous page.
