Metadata
is supporting information entered by the BHLIS administrator(s) for area types,
datasets, indicators, reports, data views and resources in the system. Note
that in BHLIS a dataset is defined as a set of Indicators logically grouped
together for loading purposes by a BHLIS administrator. If the Documents and
Resources module is available, this will allow you to browse metadata and
locate related data and resources.
Metadata
for datasets is entered by the administrator for every area type/date
combination of the dataset. Metadata for indicators, area types, data views,
reports and documents/resources is only entered once. If you view metadata for
a dataset, links will be provided to the metadata for indicators included in
the dataset. You may be able to download a CSV file with the dataset - if this
is the case a 'CSV' icon will be available. A 'Download' button is visible. The
CSV file will contain the metadata, and, where the data is not a result of
aggregation within the system, the indicator values.
If
you view metadata for an indicator, links will be provided to the metadata for
the dataset the indicator belongs to. If you view metadata for a data view or
report, links will be provided to any atlases the data view can be viewed with.
If you view metadata for a report, links will be provided to metadata for the
datasets and indicators included in the report.
